We cross the beautiful golden High Desert of Arizona and Pastel Blue Mountain Ranges where Mohave Yucca are plentiful as we travel to Grand Canyon West on the Hualapai Indian Reservation. We stop at, and journey through the heart of an amazing and incredibly lush 900 year old Joshua Tree Forest. Enjoy Eagle Point & Guano Point, two of the most stunning locations at the Grand Canyon (you have 3 hours to explore the most beautiful natural locations at the rim). You’ll also have a romantic lunch at the rim and see Native American Dwellings including lots of time to shop at Authentic Native American Gift Shops.
Hoover Dam is located in Black Canyon on the Colorado River, it is the highest structure of its kind in the world. It’s an outstanding achievement, noteworthy not only for its enormous dimensions, complex design and intricate construction, but also for its illustration of man’s bravery and ability to overcome the desert’s summer sun, the vagaries of a treacherous river, and the extreme hazards of the great heights of the canyon’s sheer walls. You have ample time for breathtaking views from the Top of the Dam, Lake Mead, one of the world’s largest man-made lakes and awesome views of the gold and red cliffs of the Colorado River Gorge from the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge Walkway, 900’ above the Colorado River! From the eastern edge of the gorge in Arizona you have fabulous views of the dam, bridge and river. In addition, you can walk across the top of the Dam into Arizona where there are wonderful photo ops, and you have lots of time to shop at the Hoover Dam Gift Shop. As a bonus we tour the Historical Old Town of Boulder City, and stop at a local park where herds of Big Horn Sheep often come down from the surrounding mountains to gather and graze on the sweet grass.
The Grand Canyon Hoover Dam Combo Tour is an action-packed historical and visual experience that will completely amaze you. You have a full hour at Hoover Dam as well as three hours to explore the west Rim of the Canyon, your senses will be in total bliss!
