| This adventure takes you back in time to the mid 1800's when this
area was first settled. Word spread quickly of gold and silver in the hills
and before long the mountains were covered with prospectors. You may have
heard the story of two aces of spades turning up in the same card game
and one gambler being shot and killed. This actually happened at the old
Pioneer Saloon in Goodsprings. This saloon is still in operation today and
the remaining bullet holes are in the wall from the shoot out. The original
coroner's report is on display with mention of the man being caught "cheatin
at cards." Photo stops on this tour include some of the famous mines. It
is a wonderfully colorful and historically fascinating adventure. This
tour is suitable for anyone. Must be 21 years or older to enter the
Pioneer Saloon. |
