Adventure Photo Tours (APT) was conceived by Donna and Will Tryon in 1995 as an upscale boutique sightseeing tour-company that stops often so the client can do a little exploring and take great photos at the amazing locations along the many tours. At that time, there were only inexpensive bus tours and very expensive aviation tours in Las Vegas, offering mostly tours to the Grand Canyon.
Las Vegas is uniquely positioned in the middle of many of the great parks in the American Southwest and, therefore, APT can offer day tours to wonderful locations such as Grand Canyon National Park and Grand Canyon West (by ground and helicopter), Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, Hollywood, Death Valley National Park, Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam, Colorado River rafting, Area 51, and a wonderful California wine-tasting tour. This also means that our clients get lots of "real" hands-on experiences while on a tour.

The ancient Indian petroglyphs, incredible rock formations, Joshua trees, dry lakes, wild burros and mustangs, and overall stunning desert scenery are what the Wild West is all about.
Day tours are important to the sightseeing tour client as mostly everyone wants to be back in Las Vegas at the end of the day for the incredible dining, shows, and nightlife. Las Vegas' close proximity to these beautiful locations makes this all possible.
"Taking people out to see these great locations, showing them a wonderful day, and sending them home with some amazing photos of where they visited... it's a good place to be in life."
Donna Tryon, president of Adventure Photo Tours, is a Phi Theta Kappa honor recipient with an extensive background in immigration and transportation law as well as many years in corporate accounting. As the CEO and CFO, she is a hands-on manager who maintains the "family" as she calls the staff.
"Everyone at APT becomes a family member which creates a wonderful working atmosphere," she says.
Will Tryon, vice president of marketing, has an engineering background in the marine industry.
Will and Donna had previously owned a very successful custom aluminum fabrication company in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After falling in love with the beauty and wide open spaces of the American Southwest, they sold that company to open a sightseeing tour company so they could share the wonderful experiences and places they had discovered.

Adventure Photo Tours officially opened in early 1998 with the intention of being a small "Mom and Pop" operation. By 2014, the company had grown to a fleet of 30 vehicles. With 65 great employees, the company continued to grow.
Will commented, "Well, I guess we failed at semi-retirement, but we're having a ball."
Adventure Photo Tours has been recognized as one of the finest tour companies in the Southwest having developed a global following. It is the only tour company to have received the State of Nevada Governors' Tourism Development Award four times.
Will adds, "Taking people out to see these great locations, showing them a wonderful day, and sending them home with some amazing photos of where they visited...it's a good place to be in life."
